DeskRec is a native Windows screen recorder created as a friendly Screen Studio alternative. It records your screen with automatic zoom, cursor smoothing and annotations, then lets you review and export a clean MP4 in one app.
DeskRec runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11 on any reasonably modern PC. Because it uses efficient native capture, it stays lightweight even while recording at 60 FPS.
Automatic zoom analyzes your clicks and mouse movement while you record and smoothly frames the active part of the screen. Viewers always follow your action without you moving the camera or editing afterwards.
Yes. Choose full screen, a single window, or draw a custom region. You can combine system audio, microphone and a webcam bubble however you like.
DeskRec exports standard MP4 files that play anywhere — Slack, Teams, YouTube, your docs and more.
No. The built-in editor lets you replay, trim and fine-tune your clip, and includes pause/resume controls during recording for clean takes. Then you export directly.
Every feature is unlocked free for 7 days — no credit card required. After the trial, choose a one-time Pro license or a Team plan.
No. Pro is a one-time purchase for Windows that you keep forever, and it includes auto-updates and priority support. Team plans support 5+ seats with volume pricing.
DeskRec checks for updates automatically on launch and can download and install new builds silently, so you always run the latest version.
DeskRec is currently a native Windows app. We'll announce other platforms if and when they ship.
